           McMain Hurricanes History

McMain Hurricanes is a coordinated effort by New Orleans Public Schools to implement the First Robotics Competition into it's schools. Initiated by the efforts of Team 1304, N.O. Botics, from the New Orleans Center for Math & Science, New Orleans Robotics seeks to create a year round program to support robotics and engineering education. Partnering With NASA,Intarlox, Lockheed Martin, Shell, Tulane University, the University Of New Orleans, Xavier University, New Orleans Robotics and the First Robotics Competition pairs student up with real engineers and technology professionals to design and build a robot.

McMain Hurricanes Seeks to

1. Inspire student to pursue careers in science and technology
2. Create more Positive attitudes about science and technology among students
3. Improve students self-confidence and self-esteem
4. Increase students knowledge of science and technology
5. Increase students ability to translate science and technology theories into ''real world" applications
